Hi Folks! The Renfrew Minor Soccer Club would like to thank each of you for your patience and understanding while our club, and our league, make decisions regarding this season during these challenging and unprecedented times.
In early May, Ontario Soccer, our governing body, decided that all soccer activities were cancelled until June 30th.
Our concern for not only player safety, but also community safety, is why we have made the difficult decision to cancel our U6 & U8 Timbit soccer program for this season.
As you can read in the attached memo from the VUSL, the U13-U19 divisions have also been cancelled due to very low registration numbers across all clubs. At the present time, the VUSL is not cancelling U10 & U12 divisions as registration numbers currently appear strong in the league and there still remains a possibility that league play could occur.
We understand there may be parents of players currently registered in the U10 & U12 divisions that have reservations about their child playing this season, and may have already decided that they would prefer to wait to play until next year.
If this applies to you, please email us by June 1st at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a refund for your child.
If we don’t hear from you by June 1st, we will assume you are willing to wait it out and see what the VUSL decides following the next announcement by Ontario Soccer. We anticipate that Ontario Soccer will make their next announcement by mid June.
Please note- we only need to hear from parents of players in U10 & U12. Refunds for all other divisions will happen automatically.
We will begin the refund process through Sports Engine to your original form of payment. As all Ontario Soccer clubs use Sports Engine it will take several weeks for refunds to be processed. If you opted to pay with cash or cheque at our pay in person session, we will be issuing refund cheques and mailing them out. You will be contacted at the email provided during registration to verify the mailing address for the refund. As previously indicated on both our website, and Facebook page, refunds will be issued for the registration amounts, either $100 or $130.00.
We know activity is important and we hope that everyone manages to stay healthy and active so they are ready to go for the 2021 Season.
